Have a project that requires strategy, organisation and communication skills?

If you have a project that is not your usually one-day event, and need an experienced project manager specialised in the wine industry capable of working out the most efficient ways of managing it, organising it and communicating it, get in touch. I love to be able to sit down and work out the plan, the steps, the resources needs and gaps and then bring everything together in an efficient way to create something that makes sense to everyone involved.

Over the years I’ve been involved in or brought in to manage a number of different long-term projects including:

Wine Business Innovation Summit :

This conference brought together the movers and shakers of the wine industry and was held in Brussels in 2013 and Munich in 2014. I was one of the co-founders, involved in creating the programme, recruiting and selecting speakers, preparing the logistical aspects of the event, overseeing the budgeting, promotion and overall management of the 2-day event that brought 150 people together for each edition. These events were some of the most stimulating for everyone involved. Unfortunately a lack of sponsorship meant that WBIS has not been held since 2014.

Born Digital Wine Awards

I was recruited as the awards coordinator for the 2018 and 2019 editions after the awards grew too large for the founders to manage themselves. This process which covered about 6 months each time, involved liaising with the software developer, communicating with the main sponsor, promoting the multi-lingual awards to wine writers across the globe, writing press releases and managing social media channels, recruiting moderators and judges, coordinating the online awards ceremonies and highlighting efficiency gain possibilities for the following year. Sadly due to a lack of sponsorship, the immensely fun, black-tie award ceremony held online in March 2020 was the end of BDWA.

Chianti Classico Ambassador in Germany

Consorzio Chianti Classico has already held the competition in the US and Canada and in 2020 decided to launch in Germany. The idea behind the Ambassador competition is to encourage and then recognise the wine professionals with a deep knowledge of the Chianti Classico region and its wines. From adapting the exam and procedure to suit the german market, to organising the finals and awards ceremony in a time of lockdowns and social distancing, this project used the full range of my skills.

If you need someone capable of managing a project in autonomy or supporting your own team, get in touch to discuss.
